Mariusz Duda – Lockdown Spaces

Dans l’espace personne ne vous entend crier. Mais pendant le confinement, rien n’empêche de faire de la musique. C’est donc dans les conditions un poil claustrophobes que Mariusz Duda s’est attelé, avant un nouveau Lunatic Soul prévu pour fin 2020, à ce Lockdown Spaces, sorte de bande originale de la période, suite de morceaux vaporeux aux allures atmosphériques un tantinet oppressantes (« Unboxing Hope »). Logique. Un peu plus d’une demie heure et neuf titres minimalistes, très électro, qui paraissent sortis d’un giron plus extrémiste que le Eye of the Soundscape de Riverside, de la bande originale d’un John Carpenter (« Screensaver ») ou de Stranger Things (« Isolated »). Qu’on ne s’y trompe pas, la patte de Mariusz Duda est belle et bien présente. Avec ses aspérités Lunatic Soul (évidemment), ce Lockdown Spaces s’appréciera pour tous les amateurs de flottements charbonneux et de voyage au cœur des ténèbres.

In the space no one can hear you scream. But during the confinement, nothing prevents you from making music. It is thus in the claustrophobic conditions that Mariusz Duda, before a new Lunatic Soul planned for the end of 2020, has tackled this Lockdown Spaces, a sort of soundtrack of the period, a series of vaporous pieces with a slightly oppressive atmospheric allure (“Unboxing Hope”). Logical. A little more than half an hour and nine minimalist, very electro tracks that seem to come from a more extremist bosom than Riverside’s Eye of the Soundscape, from the soundtrack of a John Carpenter (“Screensaver”) or Stranger Things (“Isolated”). Let there be no mistake, Mariusz Duda’s paw is beautiful and very present. With its Lunatic Soul roughness (of course), this Lockdown Spaces will be appreciated by all lovers of charcoal floating and travel in the heart of darkness.
