Riverside – Lost’n’Found – Live in Tilburg

Depuis 2009, il nous manquait un témoignage scénique de Riverside. C’est chose faite avec Lost’n’Found qui remonte à 2015 lors de la tournée qui suivit la sortie de l’immense Love, Fear and the Time Machine, peut-être leur sommet discographique à ce jour. Surtout, l’enregistrement permet de retrouver le guitariste Piotr Grudziński disparu depuis. Bel hommage, car la prestation captée ici est simplement formidable. D’intensité, de vibrations avec une setlist à tomber par terre. Entre les extraits LFATM (« Lost », « Saturate Me », « Under the Pillow », « Found ») et une revue des classiques (« Hyperactive », « Panic Room », « Escalator Shrine ») le groupe emmené par Mariusz Duda donne le ton, le la, et tout le reste. Chacun y met du sien, personne n’est mis de côté. Au diapason. Le résultat tape dans le dur et cartonne. La version vidéo (la critique de la version audio est ici) permet d’apprécier cette capacité à créer des atmosphères qui captent immédiatement l’attention en naviguant d’une ambiance à l’autre, du planant au métal, sans jamais se départir de ses qualités de composition ou d’interprétation. Le montage fait le boulot ainsi que la qualité globale de l’image. Seul bémol, le manque de bonus et surtout une prestation trop courte tant ces 105 minutes en appellent plus. On pourra toujours pinailler sur l’absence d’un titre ici ou là (« Discard Your Fear ») mais les amateurs seront comblés et les nouveaux venus trouveront ici l’objet idéal pour satisfaire leur curiosité et faire leurs premiers pas dans l’univers de Riverside.

Since 2009, we have been missing a scenic testimony from Riverside. That’s done with Lost’n’Found, which dates back to 2015 on the tour that followed the release of the immense Love, Fear and the Time Machine, perhaps their record-breaking peak to date. Everyone is involved, no one is left out. In tune with each other. The result is hard and powerful. The video version (the review of the audio version is here) allows us to appreciate this ability to create atmospheres that immediately grab the attention by navigating from one mood to another, from atmospheric to metal, without ever letting go of its compositional or interpretative qualities. The editing does the job as well as the overall quality of the image. The only drawback is the lack of bonuses and above all a performance that was too short, so much so that these 105 minutes call for more. One can always argue about the absence of some songs here or there (“Discard Your Fear“) but the amateurs will be satisfied and the newcomers will find here the ideal object to satisfy their curiosity and take their first steps in the fabulous universe of Riverside.
